Indeed most dragons began as giant snake (in Greek or Viking mythology), but with time evolved with their modern form (with the absorption in most of the modern mind of other beast as the wyvern). I don’t know if it exist a book describing the evolution of dragon throughout art and culture.
Finally do you plan to study one of the most renowned dragon (which will have this movie this year), I mean Smaug the Golden? Tolkien has painted it several times and we have a good idea of is proportions (as in this famous picture of Smaug by http://tolkiengateway.net/w/images/a/ae/J.R.R._Tolkien_-_Conversation_with_Smaug_%28large%29.jpg ).
Thanks for your work
AlexandreAlexandre Fabrenoreply@blogger.com
